How to Play Primate King
Learn the basics of playing Primate King, then set those wheels spinning.
Set Your Stake
Primate King plays over five reels with four rows and 30 paylines. Paylines are read from left to right and created by matching at least three symbols. Players can bet from £0.10 to £10 per spin. To adjust your bet up or down, you can click on the “+” and “-” buttons located in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
How To Spin The Reels
Once your stake is selected, spin the reels by clicking on the “spin” button at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This button has two arrows that make a circle. The spin button gives you one spin of the reels. The five reels will spin, and as Wilds are a massive feature of this game, you’ll have to pay attention to the symbols that line up.
Primate King Bonus Features
Here are some of the fantastic features of this slot.
Primate King’s Primate Wild Feature
Some of the symbols that appear on the reels will have a small gold coin on the bottom right-hand corner of the symbol. Each time one of these symbols appear, the gold coin is added to your collection of gold coins. The number of coins you have collected is reflected on an Upgrade Meter on the right-hand side of the screen. The collection of these coins will trigger the Primate Wild Upgrade, of which there are three:
Primate Wild Upgrade one: this turns the standard 1x1 wild into a 1x4 stacked wild.
Primate Wild Upgrade two: as you continue collecting gold coins and reach the second part of the meter, you trip the second upgrade. This adds a random multiplier to the stacked 1x4 Primate Wild.
Primate Wild Upgrade three: more gold coins will cause the highest level of this upgrade to trigger. This turns the wild into a sticky wild reel. The stacked wild (from Upgrade two) remains valid until it forms part of a winning combination and one winless spin after that. The multiplier goes up for each consecutive win in which the sticky wild reel is included. It resets back to one after the first winless spin after the winning one.
This meter on the right-hand side of the reels lets you know how many gold coins you’ve collected and which upgrade you’ve unlocked. Reaching the sticky stacked wild will bring the sixth reel into play, triggering the six-of-a-kind win possibility of 15x to 30x of your stake. The advertised 3,800x maximum win is multiplier dependent, with the highest non-multiplier win from a single spin being 900x your stake.
Primate King Primate Smash
This is a random feature that can be triggered at any time. If a Primate Wild lands with no winning combination, the gorilla clatters onto the screen and smashes all the low-value symbols. Higher value symbols then drop in to replace the smashed symbols. The win is then calculated on the symbols in place, plus those that have just dropped in.
Primate King: Review
Primate King is a compelling game, and the progress meter adds a unique touch to the game. Taking on King Kong and marching through the jungle collecting gold can unlock the sixth reel. Upgrading the wilds doesn’t take too long, but it means investing more time, which may be frustrating for the dip-in-and-spin player. Though there’s no bonus game, it’s not a drawback as there are plenty of other top features to keep you occupied as you build your stack of gold coins. Statistically, it’s possible to win 3,800x your stake, but it’ll take several high-value respins to achieve. This romp through volatile jungle, playing with gorillas and other primates, will keep the most jaded player occupied and entice the novice.
