The American Roulette wheel contains 38 pockets that range from 0 to 36. You’ll also find an additional 00 pocket. There are 18 red pockets and 18 black pockets, as well as green 0 and 00 pockets. The green sections are positioned on opposing sides of the wheel, and it’s the 00 pocket that makes American Roulette stand apart from other Roulette games.

The American Roulette table has 2 sections - the Roulette wheel and the layout or board. The numbers 1-36 are all out of order on the roulette wheel, meaning you’ll never find 2 consecutive numbers adjacent, whereas on the board they are laid out in order from 0/00 to 36. A bet placed on these numbers is called an Inside Bet. A bet placed on one of the outer sections of the board is an Outside Bet. Outside Bets give you special betting options such as the highest 12 numbers or all of the even numbers.

Placing a Bet in American Roulette Live

Before each round of American Roulette begins, all players must place their bet by placing chips on the board. The dealer will then spin the wheel as a white ball travels around it in the opposite direction. The round ends when the ball lands on a pocket.
